Debut Bristol & Bath gigs + film screening this Sunday

Brief update from us…or just skip to the summary of events.

With some members of Anonymous migrating to south-west cities we’ve now got Anonymous’ debut gigs in Bristol & Bath lined up. First up this Sunday however is a film screening for the anti-civilisastion documentary ‘END:CIV‘ we’re helping to put on with others at Kebele Cafe in Easton, Bristol. Tasty vegan dinner starts at 7pm followed by the film.

The following week militant crust punks Sickpig will be making their first Bristol appearence in at the Red Lion, St George, with local support from Murder of Crows and Grand Collapse (Asylum re-branded). We’re only charging £1/2 on the door with any funds to help Bath Activist Network (BAN).

Moving into the new year our Bath debut features Bristol’s militant ska-punkers Spanner with support from Somerset including Po-lice (upcoming skacore) and 51st State (2 piece anarcho-punk) + 1 more (potentially special guest). This will be a benefit for Bath’s latest anarchist/BAN splinter group BARF.

Whilst we leave Taunton (our hometown)behind for now, rest assured there will be shows in Bridgwater soon…

  • Sunday 23rd October 2011: END:CIV Film Screening
@ Kebele Cafe, Bristol. 7pm food served, 9pm film starts.
    £2.50 recommended donation for food

July 2011 Update

It’s been a while since our last update, so here’s the next one for you folks. With a new distribution launched, and zine on its way, featuring anarcho-punk and radical politics; we thought we’d better get started raising funds for our own causes.

First up is the Anonymous Distro benefit; our first show returning to The Pen & Quill, after re-opening under new ownership. Returning a year since their last show in Taunton, Somerset’s best-known ska-punk outfit King Tuts Revenge will be headlining to promote their forthcoming album. Sharing the stage are Room 4 1 More, known for their previous pop-punk visits to Somerset, and everyone’s favourite anarcho-punk and poetry infected duo 51st State. This show is tonight! Naturally: apologies for the late update.

In September we then have JJ’s benefit, guitarist of the veganarcho-punk band Active Slaughter. He was sentenced to 3 years inprisonment for his support of the SHAC campaign – an international grassroots movement targeting vivisection giants HLS. So we thought fuck that, we’ll throw him a half-dayer and join the conspiracy! Assisted by comrades Old Hat Promotions, we’re putting on ‘a night of anarcho, crust, punk and thrash’, as our third show at The Blake Arms, Bridgwater. The line-up will hopefully remain as crust/thrash from; War/System, Bring To Ruins, Murder of Crows and Sickpig, punk by; 51st State and Rat Bandits, as well as local gutteral death grind Cranial Obliteration and indie-hardcore from Paper Veins. This ones a 4pm start, and its cheap as chips at only £4. That’s just 50p a band to show much needed solidarity for JJ, in defence of freedom of speech.

And If that’s not enough for you, why not consider Old Hat Promo’s ‘anyway ya want it fest’ at the end of August. Or for those of you often visiting or living in Bristol, check out Stza Crack (with support from Po-lice) and Bastard Squad’s host of upcoming shows.

Up The Somerset Punks!

* We’re teaming up with RSR to help distribute and release Po-lice’s new CD.
